2010 Week of Prayer

With the launch coming quickly upon us, I believe that our prayer this week is strategic. Please join me in praying for the resources, the projects, but most importantly for the spiritual temperature to be increased. I am praying for salvations, healings, and miracles to be released! God is so faithful to us!

In 1 Chronicles 4:10, we read: "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested." The prayer is composed of four parts.

First, Jabez asks God to bless him.

Second, he asks God to enlarge his territory or increase his responsibility.

Third, he prays that God will be with him and stay close.

Lastly, Jabez asks that God keep him from harm so that he will be free from pain.

2009 Week of Prayer

"Lord, we ask you to do things beyond our wildest imaginations. We are believing You for a breakthrough in our lives, our families, our church and our community. Make us one Lord this year. Give us an uncommon unity of purpose to see people won to You this year through our church and ministries. I pray that we would excel in grace, love, purpose and passion for you. Teach us Lord, to be a people who deeply understand and live in community. We love you Lord!"

50 Day Challenge!

Well, we are off and running on our 50 Day Challenge. We have over 60 people that have accepted the challenge! When God's people fast and pray you can expect that God is going to show up in a big way. Over the next 50 days, we want you to use this blog to share your prayer requests as well as share your praise reports. Also, share with us how your fast is going. You may also use this space to encourage someone else who is struggling through. Remember, you are not alone... the challenge is big, but the results are even bigger!

Saturday's Prayer

Father, thank you for an incredible prayer time at the church last night. As a pastoral staff we were so estatic to find 65 people gathered last night from 11 pm - 1 am to seek Your face. Seeing our people at the altars crying out to you, walking the building in intense prayer, and fully engaged in worship...nothing could delight our souls more. Thank you that you are giving our church body a renewed passion for You. YOU ARE SO GOOD.

As so many have mentioned, 2007 was a challenge. However, you shook everything that could be shaken so we could COME INTO THE PLACE OF BLESSING. You are the vinedresser. You needed to prepare us to have a strong foundation, with nothing lacking for the days to come in 2008. When a miracle is about to take place we must be in the proper position for it. Thank you Lord, for all of the change that YOU have brought about. As the song we sing often at Northside says, "you give and take away...you give and take away...you give and take away, Lord BLESSED BE YOUR NAME!!!"

In hindsight we can see how you have orchestrated everything for our good.

We are now aimed for an increase because of Your wisdom, foreknowledge, grace and LOVE for us. Our hearts are filled with gratitude.

We also thank you for what took place last night from 1-3 am. We know that fellowship was one of the hallmarks of the New Testament church. In the book of Acts it says in Acts 2:42-47:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

We thank you that what you are doing in Northside Assembly of God right now is a continuation of the book of Acts. Last night we experienced powerful prayer at the church and then we went for "fellowship and the breaking of bread" at the IHOP. We took over the place! It was so cool. Just as in the book of Acts, we were "together and had everything common". We ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of the people.

NOW WE BELIEVE YOU ARE GOING TO ADD TO OUR NUMBER DAILY, THOSE WHO ARE BEING SAVED!!!

We stand on our declaration for 2008 which is the Word of God. We are ready for this year's harvest, this year's increase.

Today we call on you, 24/7. Today we have Northsiders set up on prayer shifts to be praying around the clock until our morning service tomorrow at 10:30. We are expecting GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS FROM YOU, INCREDIBLE THINGS...THE KIND OF BLESSINGS THAT ONLY COME FROM YOU.

Do it, Lord, is our prayer.

Day 4

"May the Lord make you increase, both you and your children" Psalm 115:14

"Lord I come to you right now and ask that you would bring increase to my children. I pray blessing over them. I ask that they would experience an increase in their walk with you. Cultivate a thirsting and hungering for righteousness. I pray that they would encounter a move of your Spirit that would transform their lives. I pray that no decision they make would bring harm or shame to their life. I pray that they would increase in their ability to lead others to you."

"I also ask that you would do the same in the children of our church. Anoint Pastor Lindsay as she leads our youth to an increase in every area of Oasis youth ministry. I pray that they would have increased leaders, souls, hunger, healing and influence. Open up the doors into our public schools. Lord bring the increase."

"Likewise, I ask that you would bring increase to Pastor Trinity and Misty as they lead Jam Children's Ministry and all the ministries they serve. Increase Royal Rangers, Mpact Girls club, Junior Bible Quiz, Jr. Jam, the Nursery and all the ministries reaching the children. I ask that you would increase the resources and effectiveness of each ministry. Allow this to be a year of incredible increase."

Day 3

"Lord, I want to thank you for what you are doing in my life individually. I ask that you would increase me this year. Open up doors for me that will result in increase. Increase my effectiveness as a husband, father, leader and most importantly as a man after your own heart. Increase every area of my life. I pray that I would increase my passion for you. Increase my ability to be sensitive to your Spirit in my daily life. I ask for increased opportunities to lead others to a greater commitment in being your servant."

"I ask that you would increase me in my obedience to the things that you desire for my life. I ask that you would increase my vision for what you desire to do in my life. Let me not be limited by shortsightedness, but enlarge my territories I pray. May the year 2008 be a year of increase for me"

Day 2

"May the Lord make you increase, both you and your children" Psalm 115:14

"Lord it is my prayer today that there would be an incredible increase brought about by the prayer meetings that are taking place all over our city. I pray that they will be well attended and anointed. It is my prayer that this year, being a year of increase that we would increase in our commitment to your will. I pray for increase in the power of the Holy Spirit being released upon your people. I pray for increase in finances in your people's lives. God enable us to increase in our jobs, I ask that you would grant promotion and advancement for your people. We ask that as we increase our diligence, that you would allow greater favor to flow."

"We also ask you, Jesus, to increase our church. Increase us in love and power. Increase us in exposure that will in turn draw people to you. Increase our outreach ministries. Increase the resources and effectiveness here at Northside. Increase our unity and strength to persevere through prayer. I pray that an excitement towards evangelism, prayer, missions, serving, teaching, prayer, and giving would increase in the year '08."

"We know it is your will for increase in our lives and the life of the church. Lord we pray that you would help us to not limit what you want to do in our midst. Increase our faith so that we may see the limitless potential that you have for us. "May the Lord make us INCREASE!"
